Ron Quaranta is currently CEO of Digital Currency Labs, a financial technology and strategic advisory firm which focuses on bridging the gap between the emerging world of digital currencies and Wall Street He possesses over 25 years of experience in the financial services and technology sectors. He is co-creator of the Bitcoin Volatility Index (xBVIX), and previously served as director at Falcon Global Capital, one of the first bitcoin investment funds. Prior to Digital Currency Labs, Ron served as CEO of DerivaTrust Technologies, a pioneering software and communications provider of secure transaction and information platforms for financial market participants. Before this he held a variety of roles at Thomson Reuters, the global mass media, information and technology firm, culminating as Global Head of Trading Analytics and Head of Exchange Trading for the Americas.
Ron is the editor and contributing author of the recently published book “Blockchain in Financial Markets and Beyond: Challenges and Applications”, published Risk Books. In addition, he was recently named to the Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting list by Accounting Today in 2018. He is a frequent guest of major media outlets, including Bloomberg Radio, and is a sought after speaker and writer regarding financial technology and innovation. Ron also serves as an advisor to multiple start-ups and corporations focused on fintech innovation and blockchain technology. Ron holds a Bachelor’s Degree Major in Finance, a Bachelor’s Degree Minor in Government and Politics as well as an MBA in International Finance from the St. John’s University. Ron gathered also an Executive Certificate in Information Systems and Technology Project Management from the Villanova University.
